Give, and it will come back to you. Good measure. Pressed down, shaken together and running over. These are the words that we joyfully sing with children as we model how to be cheerful givers. We try God or perhaps better stated, we take God at God’s word.
“Test me in this and see if I don’t open up heaven itself to you and pour out blessings beyond your wildest dreams.” Malachi 3:10
Bethel Church is proof, with blessings too numerous to list. At the very beginning of this “new thing”, we gave a tenth of God’s enormous blessing to us creating the Bethel Legacy Grant. The grant is focused on resourcing new church plants and church revitalization. As a result, 7 projects are now underway which will impact communities in innovative ways. Each project goes beyond the church’s doors and engages with the needs of the neighborhoods where these churches are located. As well, an endowment was established at Huston-Tillotson University, a Historically Black University located in Austin, Texas. HT is a United Church of Christ/United Methodist affiliated university.
Bethel gives into the desire that all of God’s children are blessed, that there might be food in the storehouse. Bethel owns and operates a beautiful place of respite, the Journey Retreat and Conference center. At Journey we continue our mission and provide space at less than market rates to other denominations, congregations, faith communities and various nonprofit organizations.
Tithing is our generational blessing. In giving, we receive. We invite you to share in this ministry by giving on Sunday morning when you worship with us, by mail and in the very near future- electronically.
May God bless you abundantly as you give.
You can give in person during our service.
